Our Story
In 1955
the young couple, Jim and
Ruby Bethell, purchased this
property, about 200 acres of
forested land. Together,
they cleared part of the
land and then sold all but
20 acres to raise funds for
building their house and to
start Bethell Logging
Company, which Jim ran from
this location for 48 years.
Five generations of Bethells
have made memories on our
property,
including Jim’s parents, his
four daughters--Sheryn,
Sandy, Terry and Cindy--eight
grandkids and nine great
grandkids. Cindy Bethell,
the youngest of Jim and
Ruby’s four girls, is the
innkeeper for Bethell Woods,
along with her husband Roger
Asbahr.
